MASTER PLAN PROPOSAL VOTE
by Larry Wallenstein
Your Association has worked for more
than 20 years to improve the quality of life in Victoria Park. Volunteer
members have spent countless hours, taking your input to develop a new
master plan for the neighborhood.
Through a grant obtained by the VPCA, a
Phase One document was completed and during the last 12 months members of
the Association have been working to come up with ideas for Phase Two and
to pick a planning organization to help us achieve our goals.
Your Master Plan Committee has chosen
EDSA from a list of candidates to carry forward our efforts to create the
future vision of Victoria Park. EDSA, a planning, landscape design and
urban architecture fi rm located on Broward Boulevard has worked
diligently under your committee’s guidance to prepare to create a Phase
Two document which will outline our vision and specifi c steps for the
neighborhood to take during the coming decade.
But this plan cannot be created without
a vote of the Association’s general membership. If approved, this plan
will cost $26,000, will be paid for with Association funds as well as a
$15,000 grant we will apply for - now available through Broward County.
EDSA will make a presentation to the
Association on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at 7PM at the St. Anthony’s
School Cafeteria. At the end of the presentation members will be able to
ask questions and then a vote will be taken to approve the plan.
The presentation will include:
Overview of EDSA
EDSA Project Approach
Discussion of Key Deliverables
Proposed Project Timetable
