Weekend Workdays
From time to time we spruce
up our entranceways with new plant material.
No work dates are scheduled at present, but if you would be interested in
volunteering to help out, we'd love to have you!
We usually start at 8 am to avoid the heat of the day; depending on how many
volunteers we can round up, we try to get finished well before brunch!
No special skills are needed, just a desire to help beautify your neighborhood
and enjoy the company of neighbors. Contact Jeanne Lalli for more details & to
volunteer.
See you around the Park!
Landscaping for safety -- be part of
the team!
You have probably noticed the plantings in and around
the parks toward the south end of Victoria Park Road;
they are there thanks in great part due to the
motivation, persuasion skills and sweat equity of ad
hoc Parks Committee chairman Art Timpone.
The goal is to visually narrow the roadway, which has
been proven to encourage drivers to reduce their speed.
Slower cars = safer streets for pedestrians,
cyclists, park-goers, and all the residents of Victoria
Park.
The planting beds are new, and will be beautiful -- but
there's still more to do! Planting, mulching, digging,
weeding and watering are ongoing -- if you are willing
to help with any of these tasks, please give Art a call
at 954-288-9565.
If you cannot help in person, please consider a
donation: checks can be made out to: VPCA / Parks.
Thank you!
