Fundraiser Posters

Flood Map

FEMA recently remapped the flood zones in Broward County. Many areas in Victoria Park will be affected by the change. VPCA will host a Q&A event with Brent Spencer of Florida Floodzone Services on January 4th at 6:30 at St Anthony’s Cafeteria — just prior to our regular meeting. If you have questions, now is the time to ask them. There is a limited time to appeal your new flood zone classification.

ULDR Modification Plan

The City of Fort Lauderdale contains a variety of residential neighborhoods, most of which were developed under zoning code requirements established during the mid-twentieth century. Many of the neighborhoods developed without maximizing the generous building envelope that still exists today, resulting in a development pattern of relatively low-scale single and multifamily buildings.

CERT Flyers

NEW Community Emergency Response Team Training Schedules Announced. Would you like to be better-prepared in case of an emergency?

The City of Fort Lauderdale offers FREE training in the national Community Emergency Response Team program. CERT educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

Victoria Park has the strongest CERT team in the city, and we'd love you to get trained and be a part of it!

After you report street light problems to FPL, PLEASE let us know so that VPCA can monitor repairs and follow up if necessary.  Just e-mail Utilities@VPCA.org and put "Street Light Report" and the street light's address in the subject line.

Victoria Park has always been a neighborhood which is proud of our trees and lush landscaping.  But occasionally, pest infestations put our plants on high alert -- you can thank our wonderfully-warm winters, in part, as we don't get those killing freezes which wipe out (or at least reduce the population of) pests in northern climes.
