Welcome to Victoria Park

Committee Activities

Nestled in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, we're a vibrant community that's evolving into the future while still retaining the charm of Old Florida.      Located between the Isles of Las Olas/Intracoastal Waterway/Middle River and Federal Highway, stretching from Broward to Sunrise Boulevards, we're home to more than 10,000 diverse residents who enjoy living near the amenities of Downtown, the shopping and fine dining of Las Olas, and sun, sand and surf of the world famous Fort Lauderdale Strip -- all while enjoying a cozy residential neighborhood.  If real estate is all about "location, location, location" -- we have it, have it, have it!  And if community is all about people, we have a diverse and tolerant population pulling together to make our corner of paradise even better.

There's a lot going on in our neighborhood -- and our Association is busy too.  So check out what's happening.

If you're a member, thank you!  If not, consider joining your neighbors in improving Victoria Park -- sign up here.

VPCA UPDATES

The Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police will be our guest at the September General Memebership Meeting

Sept 5th St. Anthony's School at 7:00

The FOP is currently negotiating a new contract with the City and has information concerning staffing and other issues to share with VPCA.

The FOP has put together an information packet for your review prior to the meeting.

Editor's note:  The chart on the last page is misleading.  It shows percentage increases in various city budgets -- but does not reflect the size of the budget.  The 14% increase in the police budget looks very small compared with increases for other City agencies, but the small sliver shown in the graph does indicate the overall size of the Police Dept's budget.  Police and fire services account for the largest share of City expenditures.

The City of Fort Lauderdale's staff has proposed a new zoning district: RS-8A.  This classification would lower the maximum height of buildings and impose other restrictions.  The proposed changes are currently targeted for use in Poinsettia Heights, but might be applied elsewhere.  For more details on the proposed zoning criteria ....click here
